Pinot Noir Label
Russian River Vineards and Thread for the Cure teamed up with an idea that would lend a helping hand to those affected by Cancer. The two held a competition among 8 deisgn firms in the Chicago area as well as a handful from Boston and California. The winning label would be produced by the Vineard for the entire year and a percentage of the proceeds donated to families affected by Cancer.
My sister had recently been affected by Cancer, and this project had a deep impact on me personally. I felt the concept for this design should be Typographically driven, with this in mind I used a ribbon to spell out 'Pinot Noir' on a table, with the letter 'P' having a direct reference to the Thread for the Cures' own logo.
I then photographed the Typographic work on the table, brought the image to illustrator and used the pen tool to transfer the image digitally. The label was submitted on behalf of Perkins+Will and awarded First Place in the competition.
